Welcome to non profit charity platform
Himani Trust is proud to share the success of its recent charity event, which raised over
NPR 1.26 million through the auction of two remarkable paintings created by Her Royal
Highness Crown Princess Himani Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah. ‘Mujur’ was sold for NPR 800,000
and ‘Asha Ko Kiran’ fetched NPR 460,000—proceeds that will directly support the
rainwater harvesting project in Sankhu, Lalitpur.
This initiative is part of the broader Smart Village Project, envisioned by HRH Princess
Himani, and aims to bring clean, safe drinking water to more than 300 schoolchildren and
200 villagers. The rainwater harvesting system will provide a sustainable solution to the
ongoing water scarcity in the region and improve overall community health and hygiene.
The project involves the installation of household rainwater storage tanks to reduce
dependency on traditional water sources, enhance water security, and promote
environmentally responsible practices. By maximizing rainwater use, we aim to protect
ecosystems, preserve biodiversity, and build climate resilience at the grassroots level.
Sankhu, situated in Konjyosom Rural Municipality in southern Lalitpur, has been a long-
time focus of Himani Trust’s work. Previously, the Trust supported nearby Dalchoki village
in the areas of education, health, and environmental development. Now, with the rainwater
project in Sankhu, the Trust continues its mission of empowering rural communities
through sustainable infrastructure and innovative practices.
This event wasn’t just about fundraising—it was also a celebration of Nepalese creativity
and entrepreneurship. In addition to the art auction, the event served as a platform for
young entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses. Himani Trust believes in the power of
supporting youth-led initiatives, helping them overcome early-stage challenges, scale
sustainably, and contribute to Nepal’s economic resilience. Encouraging local innovation is
vital to creating a strong entrepreneurial culture and long-term national growth.
Himani Trust has consistently stood at the forefront of national service—from leading
emergency relief efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and major earthquakes, to
organizing free health camps for over 100,000 people in partnership with leading hospitals,
and implementing clean water projects in Dolakha, Solukhumbu, Bara, Parsa, and beyond.
This fundraiser reflects the Trust’s ongoing commitment to holistic community
development, combining environmental solutions with social empowerment. The rainwater
harvesting project will not only provide vital access to water but will also serve as a model
for eco-conscious living in other rural areas.
Together, we are transforming challenges into opportunities. By blending creativity,
compassion, and community action, Himani Trust continues to build a more sustainable
and hopeful future for Nepal.
